The Lion and the Clever Rabbit

  • A cruel lion once terrorized the jungle, killing many animals. To survive, the animals struck a deal: each day, one animal would go to the lion as food.
  • One day, it was the turn of a small rabbit. On the way, the rabbit slowly delayed, then reached the lion and said, “Oh mighty king, another lion claims to be stronger than you!”
  • The lion, furious, demanded to see this rival. The rabbit led him to a deep well and pointed inside.
  • Seeing his own reflection, the lion roared and leapt in, never to return.
  • Moral: Even the weak can defeat the strong through intelligence.
